our
community

We love Tamworth!

We love the community that we are a part of and we want to love them and help them to connect with Jesus. The members of St Peter’s are part of so much that goes on in town and at church we want to be involved too. Here are a few things we have on offer for the wider community.

Everyday English

10am — 12pm Saturdays
Each year more and more people come to Tamworth from overseas. One of the big barriers for them integrating into our community is English.

A group of dedicated volunteers help people of any level  learn English and practice conversation, helping them make some meaningful connections to their community. Best part is that it’s totally free.

Community Pantry Van

10:30 — 11:30am Thursdays Fortnightly
In partnership with Anglicare, St Peter's Church runs a Mobile Community Pantry each fortnight at 5 Glen St, Coledale. Come and choose what you’d like to fill your bag. We’ve got a variety of meal options, canned vegetables, snack foods, tea and coffee etc, just to name a few. Only $15 for a bag means you can get $70+ worth of groceries.

Our friendly volunteers will help you get what you need, are keen to chat, and you can even grab a free cuppa while you’re there.

Carols on the Grass

6 December
Each year in December, St Peter’s runs Carols on the Grass. Held at Anzac Park it’s an opportunity to connect with the Tamworth community, connect people to St Peter’s church, and invite people to further investigate Jesus Christ at Christmas. We’d love you to join us and the Tamworth community for a fun night of great music at a wonderful time of the year.
