Who is jesus?

Discover Jesus

Jesus is the most impactful and controversial figure in all of history. But who really is Jesus? Jesus asked his disciples this same question over 2000 years ago and they replied

“Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” (Matthew 16:14)

Yet Jesus must have been much more than just a moral teacher to have caused people to worship and follow him, even at the cost of their very lives. Those who walked closely with Jesus and witnessed his life, death and resurrection answered

“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16)

These are remarkable claims that cannot be ignored because Jesus claims to be Lord over our lives, still today! Jesus puts the same question to us that he put to his disciples all those years ago

“But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?” (Matthew 16:15)

At St. Peter’s we truly believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that he came to earth in the likeness of a man, that he died on a cross and that he rose from the grave so that we might know God and have eternal life. We believe that Jesus changes everything about our lives now and into eternity.

But what about you? Who do you say Jesus is? We’d love to help you discover Jesus.

Hope Explored

Hope Explored is a relaxed space to get together with other curious people who long to have genuine conversation about the big questions of life - Where do I find hope? Is peace really possible? What is my purpose?

Over three sessions together we invite you to enjoy a meal with us, share your story and consider the Bible’s bold claims about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Wherever you’re at in life, we’d love to meet you there!
